This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. According to the charity Mind, one in four people in the UK will experience some kind of mental health problem each year. Although commonplace, mental illnesses like eating disorders, depression and anxiety still have a lot of uninformed associations. Indeed, a shocking 90% of people with mental health problems say that stigma and discrimination had a negative impact on their lives.
In a bid to help reduce the stigma against mental illness, we’ve compiled a list of popstars who have spoken openly about their own depression and anxiety, and how they deal with them.
